What our stewards say...

Read some testimonials of stewards, who have helped us at previous festivals, these should reassure anyone still not convinced that this is exciting and rewarding opportunity.

Comments 2010

2010 was our first time as stewards at Moira and our allocated duties included supervising the concert doors, car park direction and collecting litter to keep the site looking tidy. These tasks were in no way over taxing and we still found plenty of time to enjoy the weekend. All volunteers were provided with orange fluorescent tabards - a useful way to stand out in a crowd!

We hadn’t met any of the committee organisers previously but we were made to feel most welcome. They work hard all year raising funds and planning this event but still need reliable volunteers on the day to make things run smoothly. Anyone considering volunteering should be prepared to do their share. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and acquaintances, have a memorable experience and be part of the festival.

Stewards help to make the Moira Furnace Folk Festival the success that it is. I decided to volunteer and found it to be a very rewarding experience. At the first team meeting we introduced ourselves to each other and discussed the various duties. Nothing too difficult.

I realized we were a good cross section with a wide variety of experience. We were young and we were older! Our shared love of the music ensured we would work well together. Over the weekend strangers became friends and I am sure we are all looking forward to meeting up again this year.
Why not join us?
